As parents, we started paying closer attention to the things we brought into our home — what we used, what we breathed in, and what became part of our everyday routines.
We loved fragrance, but we wanted it to feel closer to nature. That simple idea eventually became AROMU.
A Story Close to Our Family
Autism isn't simply a cause we chose to support. It's part of our family.
As parents of children with autism, we know that evenings aren't always easy. Over time, small rituals became meaningful to us — dimming the lights, slowing the house down, creating familiar routines, and filling our space with gentle botanical aromas.
Essential oils became part of those quiet moments. Not as a treatment or a cure, but simply as part of creating a softer, calmer home environment for our family.
That experience changed the way we thought about home fragrance — and ultimately helped shape AROMU.
We Chose the More Difficult Way
Synthetic fragrance oils can make scent louder, more predictable, and easier to formulate. We chose a different path.
AROMU candles are scented exclusively with essential oils — never synthetic fragrance oils.
Lavender. Cedarwood. Fir needle. Geranium. Rose. Citrus. Resins, roots and leaves.
Real botanical materials can be quieter and more nuanced. They can vary from harvest to harvest, and they aren't always easy to work with in wax. But that's exactly what makes them meaningful to us.
We don't want nature to smell like fragrance. We want fragrance to feel closer to nature.
